gloom

By Anna | February 21, 2010 | No Comments

I had myself convinced that today was supposed to be warm and sultry, and I was extremely disappointed by the fitful, torn-up clouds scudding across the sky at 2pm when I finally dragged myself out of bed. (we spent an epic and frustrating night in the emergency room with a friend who needed his face stitched up, so I didn’t get to bed until about 6:30a) I can’t wait for it to warm us, mostly because the whole winter was very disappointing as far as snow is concerned. I found a few of my gloomiest winter photos and doctored them up for you.

sunsets

We’ve been having some really bizarre weather here lately, and it produces some interesting atmospheric phenomenon. The light was so strange at my parent’s house at dusk a few days ago, I’m glad I had my camera.

Distributing Surplus Supplies (1940)

I just love the color of this photograph. Also, the one woman looking at the camera is completely captivating. More good stuff at The Library of Congress’ Flikr.
