It’s a celebratory night– David and I got accepted to attend an expensive art school. It starts with recording the band: laying down drum tracks, take after take, over re-recorded guitar parts. (nothing short of perfection.) A quick jaunt to a grocery store, champagne, yellow car. Or maybe photographer dude– I know the image has been floating around the internet for a while, but the metaphor eludes me. Or maybe it’s dream-state. I am the car. I am the scenery. I am the photographer and the smoke and the rubble and sooner or later I’ll pick up a book and figure out what all that’s about.
Or, for the time being, I have a path. The trees are there, so is the dirt and the dust… a concrete barricade and a photographer; the car, an exuberant yellow type, that’s there too. I am driving and I am witness. Neither is more important, the crash and aftermath or the brazen opportunity to snap a portrait. Which is more terrifying: a) being the person [out] of control and scraping with death, or b) risking life for such an opportunity? OR PERHAPS THE CAR DRIVES YOU
